Questions from parents

Drivers Ed basics for Michigan teens.

If you’re new to teen driver education, you’re not alone. Here are answers to common questions about classroom requirements, drives, and licensing steps.

What age does my teen need to be to enroll?

Most families enroll their teen shortly after they are eligible for a permit. Specific age requirements are determined by North Dakota state law. When you inquire, we’ll confirm that your teen meets the current age and permit requirements for Drivers Ed.

What is included in a typical Drivers Ed package?

Our core and complete packages include state-approved classroom instruction plus behind-the-wheel drive time with a certified instructor. Drives cover residential streets, city traffic, parking, and highway practice so students experience a variety of real-world conditions.

How quickly do classes fill up?

Summer and school-break sessions often fill several weeks in advance. If you have a preferred month or season, we recommend reaching out early so we can match you with the best available dates and times.

Do parents need to practice with their teen between drives?

Yes. Instructor drives give students a strong foundation, but additional practice with a supervising adult is essential for confidence and safety. We’ll share suggestions on what to focus on between scheduled drives.

How do we get started?
